27-(60-48)+5
27-12+5
27-17=10
Using PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponent, Mulplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.
Do it in this order.

27-6(2)+5
27-12+5
15+5
20
What on-line test are you looking at?

So 27-17 is 10.
I am a middle school science teacher. I thought with PEMDAS, When it comes to MD and AS, you do them in order. So the subtracting 27-12 would come before the adding 12+5. The online answe does not agree with me. I guess I could be wrong. That's just how I remember doing it. Granted, I havent gone over this in a long time!

3^3 - 6(10-8) + 5
Please tell me what you think the answer is.
I thought it was 9 - (12) + 5 = 2.
Apparently that is not right.
