It depends on what you mean by "good". In my mind, important parts of being a good preschool include being knowledgeable of child development, and respecting families' decision about how to parent their kids, and being open to serving a diverse group of kids. A school that meets that criteria, anywhere in the country, is not going to require "independent toilet training" for a 3 year old.

However, there certainly are many preschools in DC, including schools that charge a lot of money and feed into well regarded elementary schools, that have different philosophies. Other people might consider some of those schools to be the "good preschools".
