Hello all -
I am putting this out there on behalf of my wife - we hope someone can offer a little optimism/feedback.
Five weeks ago my wife TFMR when she was 17 weeks pregnant. She went in for a follow up about two weeks after the D&E. The doctor only did a pelvic exam, but said everything seemed fine and that she should expect a period in about three weeks or so.
We are eager for her to get pregnant again, and went into Shady Grove last week to meet with our doctor regarding next steps and also to have my wife's blood drawn for HCG levels. At that point (March 4) her HCG was at 120 (or thereabouts). She got her period on Sunday, which we were really happy about. Went into Shady Grove again today for a blood draw, and HCG is still high at 88, so they're not counting this as a "true period." Our doctor wants her to have two "normal" cycles before moving forward.
Can anyone with similar experience give us an idea of how long it will take for that HCG level to go down? She goes back in two weeks for another blood draw. Think it might be down significantly then? As previously stated, we're both eager to move forward with TTC again. Though my wife is not that old (32) her eggs are "older" than her actual age. Time is of the essence for us. And we're a same sex couple, which means lots of money going toward this and no chance of trying at home for a "natural" conception (if only...).
Any words of encouragement or sharing of similar experiences greatly appreciated.
