OP. Sounds like I am the crazy here! My DS was stuffing snow in his face today - quite a few days after the snowfall. I thought it was gross and we have the same conversation every year that it has contaminants in it even when it looks "pretty". But definitely gross after a few days on the ground. But I listening to DCUM feedback, and will rethink my stance. I did not grow up around snow, and that may be the issue. I guess it is normal, even a good thing to eat snow, even dirty old snow.

Wait. You're not supposed to eat it? I thought everyone ate snow. What about snow cream?

I'm 34 and had a nice handful of crusty old snow today with my toddler. We went on to eat non-organic produce for lunch. Waiting for CPS to knock down the doors...

As long as it's not blackened who cares? It would be different if dc were drinking from mud puddles.

Haven't you ever made snow cream with your kids?

I ate it in my 30s as well. If I still skied out west I'd still be doing it.

I also make snow ice cream with our preschoolers, so I suppose I'm also encouraging it.
