And why do you assume that a transgender person wouldn't be checking ouf the genitals of people in a bathroom or locker room? Nobody's walking water contrary to your beliefs.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Sorry. If you have a penis, use the men's room. I don't give a crap what you "feel" like. How often are you checking out the genitals of people in the bathroom or locker room? Do you always look at people's crotches? Gross.
You do know that almost all of the vehemence against your response are coming from one (at the most two) person. You can tell by the style of writing. That said, I agree with you but have no problem with providing additional/gender neutral facilities.Anonymous wrote:Sorry. If you have a penis, use the men's room. That was my initial thought too.
And OP, I do understand the woman's surprise, and even empathize with her discomfort. It's just in her shoes, I would not have complained. I would have worked through my own issues. I have empathy for the transgendered person, too. That doesn't mean immediate ease and acceptance. That means putting myself in the other person's shoes. And life in this culture is far harder for a transgendered person than it is for someone who occasionally runs into a transgendered person in a bathroom or locker room. I'd much rather try to be nice and accommodating rather than making a stink.

The no judgement policy is plastered all over the walls, in 3'-5' letters. They deny memberships to super muscular people. They have a lunk alarm, and use it if someone is perceived as showing off. How did she not know about the no judgement policy?!
