It is possible but quite difficult. You need to remove the finish *and the stain* . If the wood is naturally dark, you would need to use a two-part wood bleach.

Our cabinets are a yucky mahogany color. Is it possible to lighten them and stain a lighter color like a teak color? Or is that impossible ? And if o, do u have any suggestions of who to hire to do this? Thx
