This is an irrelevant detail for me. There are many other factors that I look at and this isn't one of them. His current feelings regarding religion would be more important than the status of his sex life.

I did. I was a virgin, too. We're happily married, 2.5 kids.

Yes. My husband was a virgin (34yo) when I met him. We have a great relationship, married 8 years now.

Aside from his inexperience in the bedroom, is he ambitious and funny? smart? independent?

There are other qualities to look for in a man, too.

I'd ask those questions if I were single.

No, I wouldn't even consider it.

I dated a 40 year old virgin. He was very successful and ultra religious and conservative. Like many in that category he had some weird sexual hang ups. At first I found him fun but it got boring pretty fast because he could only function under certain circumstances. Luckily I wasn't looking for anything serious. Don't expect anything serious and don't stick around too long. Recognize the red flags for what they are.

No way. Sounds like he has intimacy issues.

No way. I've been having sex for twenty years, I don't have time to go through those awkward growing pains.

I just can't imagine the kind of emotional baggage that would come from someone being a 40 year old virgin. No, no, no.

Yes, no bad habits to break.

It's not a deal breaker, if he has a lot of other things going for him.

I'd MUCH rather date a virgin who had some hurdles getting his self esteem in line, and got to it later than average in life, than a 30/40 year old momma's boy who still pampers and takes care of her baby boy.

could be incredibly erotic, but I'd have to know more about him.

This is a bit hypothetical obviously so bear with me. Say you have a man in his 30's or 40's and he's still a virgin, indeed has never been kissed or had a girlfriend before.
