What?? Now it's one thing if a moronic parent kills himself but how you think it's okay for a toddler to shoot himself is reprehensible.

I didn't say it was okay for the toddler to shoot himself. Just that I won't be feeling sad/upset/awful about it. Let the parents deal with the awful emotions of losing their child just because they made an incredibly stupid decision. No skin off my nose.

Hey - I'm all for stricter gun locks/responsible gun ownership. If you (general you) and other gun-lovers want to fight against reasonable, stricter gun laws and potentially save your own child from harm/death and your side wins, then I give up. I won't feel the least bit sad when your child kills themselves because of your neglect. Live with the consequences, gun nuts, live with the consequences.

Okay, I haven't handled guns so I don't know but don't these things have safetys? Do all these accidental shootings mean that people are carrying guns around without the safety on or is this something that a 3-year-old could easily circumvent?

I can't conceive of carrying a gun in your purse without having the safety on. That sounds crazy to me. Maybe someone more familiar with handguns could enlighten me on this.

When I read this I thought "this is old news" but then I read the article and realized it was ANOTHER case of a child finding a gun. PP is right, we are getting too accustomed to these stories.
