Our letter from the school stated that they did not know when the results would become available (though it was a don't call us, we'll call you statement). With all the snow days, I doubt the first graders have had any review of the test ("general") or the online process.

Laptops have touch pads. It would be very unusual for them to test on a desktop, although not impossible if the child has some sort of accommodation and has to test in a small group setting. It's just very unlikely that they wouldn't use a laptop.

I don't think mine does. I am also worried about DC wasting time, trying to figure the test stuff and working the computer at the same time. Do they use a mouse or a laptop touchpad? My DC has also only used ipad or kindle at home and not laptop or desktop. How would the teacher be able to help all the kids that need help at the same time, without losing time from the test?

We got information in Friday folder the test is on 3/12.Nothing else.
With or without mouse ?
My DS says he does not use mouse in school.

We got notice yesterday that our test is online and will be on 3/10. No other info than that.

Our kid's school hasn't given any info. either. DC only uses iPad at home, and gets minimal tech time at school, so not sure how competent the kid is with a mouse. We tried at home tonight, and DC was quite frustrated about dragging mouse around. It looks like that most of the test time will be spent on fighting the mouse, instead of focusing on questions. Wish they could have the option of paper-and-pencil?if not iPad.

The kids will use laptops or desktops with a mouse. There's a few sample questions. The parents won't get the results until later in the spring.

Probably true, but I don't think the schools assume this for all the students across the county, considering lower income families...

Can you ask your AART? I would guess it would be on a computer with a mouse. Don't know about you, but our school does not have any iPads for the kids--too much $. Kids get tech time once a week and that's where they would have the experience with a computer and a mouse. There are more or less enough computers there for one class, so I would again guess that the tests would be given with a staggered schedule--one class after another, etc.

This is the first time it's given in March, so who knows when the results would be out...
