I thought everyone knew this.

For a while it was "the place" because everyone else bought there and C&B (also crap) - their quality now sucks. Besides, don't people get tired of walking into others' houses and seeing the same old thing?? Be less sheeple like and go to a non traditional place. Great suggestions here.

All my world market stuff has outlasted pottery barn and crate and barrel

I feel like what you're asking for is everywhere. Don't know your style but for casual, try Crate & Barrel.

Maybe 2-3 levels above IKEA, real wood furniture, solids sofas, etc. No particle-board, hollow core, veneer. Furniture that lasts several years and can take the beating of families with kids.

Back in the day I used to shop at Levitz and find good deals, any stores like that in the DMV? Open to online as well.

Many thanks for any leads!!
