Bad idea. Makes it easier for administration to not bother the c teachers with a snowy commute.

Holton's work is only a suggestion in case you need ideas, not mandatory at all.

I think most privates send work to students via email. I personally love it.

To clarify, the "suggested snow day educational activities with parent or caretaker" at WIS are just for the primary school. Middle and upper school students have to check online for assignments. The work is intended, more or less, to make up for the lack of class time that day. This is quite common elsewhere now.

Our non-DC private sends out snow day assignments. I think this is the direction most schools are moving in.

I don't know...basically, the 'work' is just 'suggested' but not required...the school just doesn't want to make up the snow days.

What happens if the parents aren't available? Maybe the kid goes to a drop in program, a back up nanny fills in, or the kid just goes to a daycare option?

Langley school sent out work for students.

Holton has snow day work for the girls but the parents are not involved.
