I absolutely loved it. I know many people complained that it dragged but I, personally, didn't notice. Happy to read to the bitter end. My husband also enjoyed it.

Sad, compelling, beautiful.

That's how I felt too. I was disappointed by the ending.

I was disappointed. Spent a lot of time reading it. I wanted to hear the end (listened to it on Audible), so kept going. Last 1/2 was not good. I wouldn't recommend. Very depressing too.

It was the most relentlessly depressing novel I have ever read, but I couldn't put it down. I'll never re-read it, though.

It was ok but not as good as her other books. Read Wolf Hall!

My father just read it and keeps telling me I need to.

That's the kind of book I'm looking for. Unfortunately I've read everything Kingsolver has written. Her books usually keep my engaged until all hours of the wee morning.

The Secret History, not Life. Sorry, not trying to be a dick. And yes, it's that kind of book. At least it was for me.

I knew I was off, but I figured people would know what I was talking about. Glad to hear it was a page turner for you.

Similar to a Secret history. You'll enjoy it.

Ohhh, I feel like it's a sign of a good book (or movie) if it draws enough emotion to make me hate the characters.
