Not free range, and the chickens are still indoors mostly it seems, but cage free feels better to me than many grocery store options. I get Trader Joe's cage free eggs otherwise.
The worst have been the whole foods eggs, oddly. Didn't taste great in my omelet, and were horrible to peel when boiled.
Anonymous wrote:Yep. Vital Farms -- they have several variants (organic vs non-gmo vs conventional) which carry slightly different branding and pricing. But they are as close to truly pastured eggs as you can get IMO from the grocery store. Love them!
FYI -- they average about $6 per dozen.
