^^ I love Devil Wears Prada - she could easily have been over the top in trying to portray a b**chy boss, but Meryl Streep was so subtle in her delivery, I thought her perforance was fantastic.

Maybe you haven't seen enough of her movies. She is consistently great and known for doing a variety of accents. I think people like working with her and the oscars are a huge popularity contest.

I have never been blown away by any of her performances (at least, not what I have seen)
