jcpenney custom also does it. They sell lines from larger companies such as Graebner and Kircher. Expensive but I'm pleased.

I had mine done via an online company. I did the measuring myself, which was a little scary, lol, but their virtual assistance was good, their fabric selection excellent, and their prices pretty reasonable. And the drapes are lovely. But any way you slice it, custom drapes are expensive.

Whoa, that's a $hitload of $$! I had no idea. The last house we lived in had gorgeous silk custom made curtains in the living room and I loved them. Kept them for the 10 years we lived there, over DHs objections that they blocked too much light from the windows. Now the new house we've moved into has honeycomb blinds in practically every room. No curtains. I really miss the ones from the old house.

I used Calico a few years back. They had a great selection and I had them make drapes for my dining room. I feel like two windows were around 1,000. I also bought fabric and reupholstered ( and piped) my dining room chairs in a complementary fabric. I did the chairs myself. It looks so custom and pretty it fills my heart with joy. There are plenty of sites to order well priced fabric, but it's hard when you can't feel/ see it- some might send swatches. Yardage at g street was exponentially more expensive, and didn't have the colors I wanted.

Can I ask how much you spent? Which Calico Corners did you use? There used to be one on Wisconsin Ave but it's gone now.

I think we figured out we averaged about $1000 - $1500 per pindow. It depends on the fabric. For one room, we got extremely basic cotton duck drapes made. that was only $1200 for the whole room, I think. But the silk drapes in the other rooms cost closer to $1500/2000 per window. We used the one in Arlington - on Williamsburg Blvd.

I will say the rooms with their curtains look great. The rooms where I used pottery barn look way worse.

I believe they will now come to your home for free to make suggestions and provide an estimate. So it's worth a try!

I am 13:59. I also should have mentioned that this was 8-9 years ago. Prices have probably gone up.

How much is "Not Cheap?"

I used Rockville Interiors for this type of consultation.

I want new window treatments in several rooms in my house. Is there a fabric store with a great selection who could come to my house with samples (in color ranges I'd specify) to measure, advise, fabricate, and then install?

Thanks for your advice!
