Yes it's sad, they should've had them in 3rd grade
We are in a lot of activities. As soon as they are drop off, my child will have a cheap kids phone for emergencies. I don't see the issue when they are inexpensive and have a tracker so we know exactly where they (or at least the phone) is and if they need me, can easily call. If cheap phones were available, my parents would have gotten us them to keep track of us.

Anonymous wrote:DS is turning 10 and I am thinking of getting him a tablet for his birthday. We are an Apple family, but an iPad seems like overkill for a kid. He will be playing Minecraft, Angry Birds, etc, using Google, watching some Amazon videos, and maybe using as an eReader eventually. Right now he uses my iPad to do all that.
Considering a Kindle Fire or an iPad mini. Any suggestions on which way to go?
