Screaming at kids, shaming them, snapping at them for not standing perfectly in a straight quiet developmentally inappropriate line, pushing/slamming kids into chairs, grabbing kids very hard...it makes me feel sick to my stomach. What can be done? why do the classroom teachers allow this to happen--is it just that they want someone else doing their dirty work?
The worst I have ever witnessed has been verbal. If you do decide to go to the principal I wouldn't mention at all what your DC has told you and only report what you have seen. Good luck, many of us are hopeful the new principal will actually do something about it and if it's really true one has already been reassigned that is a great step in the right direction.
