I have to go to two basketball games today and clean 3 bathrooms. I am happily married, but I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat to have the entire day to myself with no responsibilities. Go to the mall or the movies. Or order delivery and veg out in bed watching tv. Now I'm jealous :0)

I agree - I do need V-day dick. Too funny. A distraction always helps. LOL!

I made plans to go with friends to go to live comedy club. I knew I needed the humor. And some of my friends are single, some in couples. The men in the couples appreciate having plans that involve humor and no or low pressure.

Think about it this way. It's not a very fun day for everyone. Even in people in couples. There is so much pressure for both people. If things haven't been going great, you have to put a game face on act in love. Have to sit through the BS of the special dinners at the restaurants with the flowers and everything around. It's just all so contrived. Which is fine if you are truly giddy about each other. But if not, you have to still go through the motions, act happy, submit to sex, etc. For those still in early relationships, the women feel obligated to have sex after the expensive dinner, etc.

Long story short, it's not a fun day for most people really.

Love. Think about the love in your life - of friends, of your daughter, of your family, of yourself. Love yourself today: be kind to yourself and do things that make you feel good. You are loved and you are love. Blessings!

Still, I was just curious if anyone else felt this way. I guess, in my silly way, I want to feel not alone in my feelings of such.

It's a day to focus on love. So think about all of the things you love about yourself. Or all of the things you want to love in your next relationship. It doesn't have to be depressing unless you let it be.
I've been in both positions and being with someone I don't want to be with is way worse than being single on v-day. At least when you are single you have some hope for next year!

Then be put off, and ignore it. Valentine's Day (like New Year's Eve) is all about hype and disappointment.

Ok - It's V-day and my daughter is with her Dad.

To me V-day is really Single Awareness Day. And the pressure to be "in love" feels like a huge weight on my shoulders. Hurts my head thinking about it.

While I spend a this cold Saturday morning alone, thinking about going to the gym, I'm wondering - Am I the only one that feels this way?

Just curious.


I adore my freedom but "holidays" like this are just so off-putting
