Wild to see how many want to get into Ross these days. My son was the only caucasion in his K class in 2003. If you are living in the boundary of other NW elementary schools, get together with parents like we did way back when and make yours the next Ross! It's not that difficult. That said, Ross has been CHEATED out of a good feeder pattern forever -- Michelle Rhee and Co. refused to implement a Spanish-English immersion program which would have fed Ross easily into Oyster-Adams, then Wilson or wherever.

What would be the point if upper grades? The reason you can even get in is kids leave because there is no where to feed into.

And even "OOB" is deceiving, since the boundary ends 2 blocks away in a couple of directions, so there are plenty of technically OOB kids who actually are very much neighborhood kids.

Yes, pretty difficult to get into in the lower grades. Fantastic little school with just one class per grade, but a wait list of around 500. But in the upper grades it can be done.

It's a great school goes into the 100s on its waitlist every year. The problem for OOB hopefuls (and the bonus for IB families) is that Ross is tiny, meaning statistically speaking it is near impossible to get into because there is just one or two classes of each grade.

Flies under the radar? Seriously? Everyone I know would kill to get into Ross, but they don't take any OOB students (and waitlist some inbounds for PK3/PK4).

Can a current PS 3/4 parent weigh in on this school. I feel like it kind of flies under the radar but the test scores are on par with Janney. Only 25% FARMS too. its lacking in facilities for sure and would a challenge on the commute but it may be worth adding to our short list. Would love to hear from current parents, are you plannig to stay at least through 4th?
