No. I worked in a few restaurants when I was younger. I spent about 9 years working in the restaurants from 1995-2005 and I never saw one roach in the places I worked at. The kitchens were clean, the front of the house was clean, and the management stayed on top of things. Roaches cause me to feel extreme anxiety, I don't know why, but it causes a near panic reaction when I see them. So I couldn't overlook this if I saw one in a restaurant.
I recently stayed at a hotel in Los Angeles (Embassy Suites) and when I woke up from a nap, I
went to get some clothes out of my backpack and when I moved it, I saw a roach. I got very anxious and went down to the front desk to let them know. They let me change to a new room, but I checked out the next day and will never, ever stay in that hotel again. And honestly, it kind of made me question the standards of Hilton hotels. Both of the rooms I had in that hotel were not as clean as I would expect and this makes me think that the management doesn't really care. Preventing pest infestations starts with management and employees with high standards and taking pride in their work. The employees that are like "eh, it's good enough" and only care about getting the job done as fast as possible don't have high standards and it usually starts with management. That's not good enough.
