We went the first weekend in May last year- no bugs but it was freezing! Like sweatshirts at the beach cold. Still fun though! And pretty empty

We stayed in June and basically we ran from our car into our rental, but once inside the screen porch or when you are at the beach it is not bad. So when you go for a bike ride etc load up on spray. Still love it though! FWIW I camped there in March and there were no bugs yet, too cold.

Not sure about April/May but when I went in July it was the single worst bug experience of my life. Pack your poison- this is not the place for Avon Skin So Soft or some essential oils.

How bad are the bugs (mosquitoes and biting flies) in April and May? We're considering a trip, but the people in my family are bug magnets. Thank you!
