OK, well I for one loved this episode!!

The scene with Edith taking Marigold from the Drewes was heartbreaking. I feel horribly for both of them, particularly Mrs. Drewe. But, this is the first time that Edith has actually taken control of the situation and done what SHE wanted to do all along. I do hope that she finds happiness living in a new city with her daughter. I understand her statement to Tom that she can't be happy at Downton, she of anyone in that family needed to get away. That place is just oppressive for her. Maybe she'll start actively running the publishing company and establish herself as a businesswoman!

I'm still holding out hope that Isobel isn't saying yes to Lord Merton. Unless I missed it, she never actually came out and said yes. She made some comment about her last chance for a grand adventure - perhaps she's going to go off and do something else entirely?? Probably wishful thinking...

Mary is such a snot, trying to keep both Charles and Lord G fawning over her even though she doesn't actually want either of them. She just likes to be pursued.

I'm happy that Anna and Mr. Bates are finally being open with each other. I can't remember what actually happened to the ticket, though - did Mrs. Hughes throw it away? Or did she give it to Mary??

Sweet scene between Lady Grantham and her Russian lover. Wonder what will happen if the Princess is found ... or if it's confirmed that she did not survive.........

I think that was the previous dog, Pharaoh (a boy dog who didn't get along with the real dog of the manor). But bottom line, the whole cast would all be much older, too (and married off with older kids etc)--they make no bones about skipping ahead so they can change fashions and show new inventions and bring in parts of history they are more interested in. So if Mary can be, what, 23 or so…for years and years, why not Isis?

I am now resigned to suspect our British friends are hinting, and I should not get our hopes up for Isis. Well hopefully her death will bring Lord G and Lady G back together.

Remember that the show opens with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. It's now 1924 or thereabouts, since Hitler is just being sent to Landsberg. So, the dog could very well be Isis. And, yes, she'd be old.

So, Isobel will outrank Violet once married to Lord Merten, yes?

I, too, think Isis is dying as Julian needed to kill her off during production when ISIL-ISIS became problematic.

My heart broke for mrs. Drew and also marigold. She must be so confused. But poor Edith too. It's not like she ever didn't want the baby.
