my coworker teaches as an adjust in the subject he works in.
Which is weird, because he doesn't have an advanced degree (glad I don't go to school there to be taught by not-as-educated people!).
But GW has tons of adjuncts that are feds

My husband became an adjunct professor. The school pays for certifications and allows you to audit the certification prep classes. Depending on your background, pay is OK (certainly above minimum wage). Time commitment is approximately 15 hours per week.

A coworker waitresses Fri n Sat nights and clears $2-300 for those two nights. Idk how many hours she works. Entree there is around $25.

I'm interested in perks or benefits I could use or take advantage of when I retire in about 7-8 years. Maybe travel related benefits.
Regarding concierges, I get the impression those positions are hard to come by and you need to have quite a few connections to be effective.

What kind of benefits are you looking for?
Retail sales like Att, Verizon pay more than min wage.
High end apt buildings need concierges. Wait tables, bartender, bookkeeping, tax preparer, babysitting.

I am interested in working part time on a side job to supplement my Federal job income. I work on a compressed work schedule so I'm available all day Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I'm not really interested on a minimum wage job and would rather work in something that provides side perks or benefits.
I don't have a family or other similar responsibilities so my long weekends are pretty open. A friend suggested working for hotels but so far the openings I've seen are mostly housekeeping at a minimum wage.
My regular job is in IT. I would obviously notify my manager if I find a job and would make certain it would not impact my regular work.
What types of side jobs other Feds are doing?
