We loved toddler ballet class! It is basically a movement and music class for those who are being so critical. Look online at amazon or the afterschool site affiliated with diapers.com. Also at ballet petite (locations in VA and MD).

You could try Ballet Petite in McLean (Old Dominion Rd.). They have a small store front that sells that stuff. I would assume they have the smaller sizes since they offer classes for the little ones. I'm sure they would let you try it on your daughter before purchasing. Good luck!

My DD is a petite 2.5 year old. I bought the extra small size leotards at Target and thought they would be swimming on her. One fits her perfectly and the other is a little snug. If you are taking the class in Reston you are close to a Target. It's worth trying a couple on to see if any of them fit. They also carry tights in all sizes. I ordered her ballet shoes from Amazon.

I just googled 12-18 mos leotard and got plenty of results.

These are the cases where I suggest to the grandparents that they buy the clothes that will make them so happy and send them to us and we promise to dress child in them and take lots of pictures.

OP here of course it's not real ballet but you can take courses through Fairfax County (Parktakes). We're taking it through the Reston Conservatory.

I signed my DD up for "ballet" at 18 months and she just wore leggings and a loose top. I put ballet in quotes because it's not very formal at that age. She is now three and just started wearing a leotard this year. Ask the instructor/school what she should wear and, if it is a leotard, if they have suggestions on where to buy.

Just signed my 21 month old DD up for Baby Ballet and was wondering if anyone knew where to get leotards and tights for toddlers. She's on the small side wears 12-18 months (31 inches 21 lbs). Everything I find is for toddlers 2T-4T and she would be drown in something that large. If your child took baby ballet where did you get their clothes? TIA
