My nurse said it was possible "but he didn't like to do it" and he told me no when I asked him yesterday. they send the embryos to Miami for testing so it seems they could get the results in a day and transfer on day 6. I love my Dr so I don't want to get on his bad side by pressing him too much bec he's been great through two prior IVF rounds but maybe I'll ask my nurse?

So I did what you described...fresh cycle and then frozen cycle for transfer. This worked for me at age 38 after having 2 chemical pregnancies and several BFNs.
The testing on the 5-day is much more accurate than testing on the 3-day. The success rates are pretty high for 5-day normals. If you have enough 5-days to do this, I would.
Good luck.
SG does a day 5 biopsy and day 6 transfer.
