My 8 yo dd can eat about 11 inches of a 12 inch sub when she is really hungry. She eats as much as my DH. Easily.

Wow are you serious??? That is INSANE. I just can.not.believe.it. Whew!! Wow, just wow. Sign him up for the Nathan's Hot dog eating contest this July. What a feat. You must be shocked, proud, amazed because this post is going to haunt me for days. This just can not be real. Must be a troll.

What is your problem? OP is asking a simple question.

OP's kid may be hungry, but at least he doesn't have a jerk for a mom.

Like your kids do.

I was just going to say the same thing! My DS is 5 and can easily put away a 6in sub. He's a skinny kid, but can eat a ton.

My 11-year old eats as much food as a grown man. He can eat about 1/2 a Rotisserie chicken, 2 cups steamed broccoli, and 2 rolls for dinner.

Like today he will have:
Breakfast 1 ½ cups oatmeal & a banana.
Lunch a 6-inch meatball sub, ½ cup raw veggies & dip, 5 slices of mango & a cup of some other fresh fruit.
Snack in school protein granola bar.
Afterschool snack an apple, cheez its & ½ a peanut butter & jelly sandwich
Dinner will be the chicken.

He is about 4 foot 8 inches, at least yesterday he was, he will probably be 4’10 by this evening ?

Subway sub fillings are usually pretty sparse.

Depends on activity level as well. My 11 yr old DD (very athletic and so thin that it annoyingly draws comments from some other parents) regularly gets a footlong. But she often will eat it in two settings . . .

Growth spurt! I know the feeling. My dainty 2 y.o. daughter ate 1/4 of an 8x8 pan of baked tortellini tonight, plus carrots and hummus, and has been eating that way all week. She's a bottomless pit, and normally we can't get her to eat 10 tiny bites of anything in a sitting. We measured her and sure enough, she's grown almost 2 cm in the last 2 months. But yes, eventually that son of yours will be eating foot longs as a matter of course.

Might be a growth spurt. My kid goes from months of eating nothing to months of consuming everything in the house and asking for more.
