Have you checked ikea for cabinets?

I think you will be really happy with white cabinets once they are in. Maybe sure they have hardware on them to make them feel nicer. I got super cheap hardware online from Goingknobs.com.

I think you might really like revere pewter. It looks different in every room though. Totally depends on the lighting.

Yes, the majority of whats going on in the room is painting. I'm not nuts about the beige cabinets, but I'm less crazy about the white ones. I was hoping for a light grey cabinet, but, anything beyond the beige or grey really bumps up the cost.

And yes, definitely a light nuetral for the walls. Both because of the painting and to keep the space open feeling. It's just that the wood for the countertop is "warm." Now the cabinets are "warm." But the floor is "cool."

Perhaps white cabinets are the way to go. They I can get a wall color with a touch of grey to it. If I get the slightly upgraded cabinets from the Home Depot house line in the white, instead of beige, they might not be quite so awful.

Oh, also, does your crafting rely on colors at all (painting, etc)? If so, you may want to consider going white. I hate plain white but it is the only way to get accurate colors in a room if detailed color differentiation is important. You'd also want lighting that worked for that kind of thing.

Go neutral. It is more likely to turn out well and you can add color through pillows and other accessories. Revere Pewter is a great neutral with both beige and gray tones.

Rethink beige and gray together? If you do that the wall color possibilities are endless.

I may be overthinking this, but I've never had to pick a wall paint color before! We are finishing a space in our basement as a craft/project room. There are going to be an extensive wooden counter surfact, cabinets, and painted walls. Basically, for the budget, I can do pure white or beige cabinetry. I much prefer the beige as the white just looks so cheap. We are also going to stain the concrete for the flooring. So, what I have now is a sample of the cabinet color (beige), sample of the countertop color (stained wood) , and sample of the floor stain (greyish). We have to pick a wall color and trim. Any suggestions?
