In marking periods 1 and 2, PE covered:
effects of exercise (heart)
locomotor skills (walk, run, hop, jump, gallop)
relationships with objects (inside/outside, around, through, under/over, on/off, across, near/far, in front/behind), catch self-tossed objects in self-space, throw underhand
So if your child has an I in PE, then maybe he/she hasn't mastered galloping, or maybe he/she hasn't mastered throwing something up in the air and catching it, or something like that.
