If you don't want the color thrown on you avoid the color startions. They have specific points set up for people to throw the color so you just run on the outside of those spots rather than through the color station and your good to go.

Right, but if you are going to do that (avoid the color), why not just do a regular 5k? No need to spend so much money on the special "color run."

Good point.......the one I did was no more expensive than other 5K's. So why not. Just to say I did. I probably will not do another one unless someone I know is doing it and asks me to run it with them.

Not all things that have similarities are "cultural appropriation." Holi isn't a 5K and The Color Run isn't trying to be a religious celebration.

Pretty much none of the "theme" or fun runs/5ks are for charity. Same goes for the Ugly Sweater Run, those night-time glow runs, etc.

I have asthma, and this seems like a very good way to induce asthma in children.

Corn starch might be okay (though any particles no matter how benign have some risks, look at talc which was used for decades); but what exactly is "natural" that make such vivid colors??!!

NOT A CHARITY.

THIS IS A FOR PROFIT RUN.

We made this mistake to our embarrassment. Some of the proceeds are donated to charity, but only after they make their profitl

It's not really a race for running. Most people walk to bask in all the color.

I believe it's corn starch. I did it a couple of years ago. You're not missing anything exciting.
