Just curious. Two years ago Takoma sent acceptance in big yellow envelopes. When my old child was accepted to HGC, we got invitation in some small envelope and we almost missed it (found couple days later in pile of unoppened junk mail.) Can somebody who was accepted last year to Takoma post how invitations were mailed last year?

If you look at the slides of the presentation from the parents meeting on Easterns's website it says Jan. 30 th. I think Takoma will be that week too (I.e. Next week).

D is at RM and she told me yesterday that the school library was closed bc teachers were doing selections. It's not going to be this week for sure.

How do you know that Eastern is mailing Jan. 30? I thought middle magnets aren't mailing until mid-Feb.

Last year, though letters had the same- we got our acceptance to Blair on the 4th & the acceptance to RM on the 6th. And RM's acceptance in a tiny envelope.

I think if you were to dig up the threads on this subject from last year, you'd find that the letters were mailed several days after they were supposed to be. I believe the PP is correct, we received the letters in the middle of the week when we'd been expecting them over the previous weekend, or Monday at the latest. I don't recall if there was a reason for the delay, it may have had to do with all the bad weather and school closings we were going through at the time.

Of course, looking back, receiving the news a few days late was no big deal, but at the time the wait was grueling. Who knows if there will be a delay again this year, but I just wanted to alert you to the possibility. I know how much anxiety families are feeling right now. Good luck!


Thanks! That is good to know. It is stressful. I did hear that last year students received their letters on different days. Unclear if that was a mail problem or they weren't all sent out together.
