13:09 here. We also have a sunroom on the back of the house with three 63" windows. I did solid white cafe curtains back there. They let in light (critical in our DC rowhouse) but still offer privacy. By far the least expensive of the window treatments in our house. They are installed on tension rods inside the window frames.

Subject: living room blinds
We had the same issue in multiple rooms.
In the living room, we got plantation shutters from Next Day Blinds.
In the master bedroom, we got automatic roller shades (with fascia) from Serena Shades.
In our guest room, I am getting wood blinds. They're an odd size, so I'll probably have to get them from Smith + Noble or someplace like that.
Of all those options, I love the look of the plantation shutters the most. I couldn't be happier with them. In our bedroom, the room-darkening roller shades are very functional and more attractive than I expected them to be, but I wouldn't want them in a living room. I was so pleasantly surprised by how functional they are that we're ordering a shade for DC's room to help block out light.
If plantation shutters are out of the desired price range, I'd look at wood blinds before roller shades for a living room.

Plantation shutters are the best. They're easy to open to let light in and classic.
Runner up is the 2 inch white wood blinds. Home Depot sells them longer for your size window. Lowes doesn't.

We have an older house (1920s) with original giant windows and huge moldings. We have cellular shades from Bali blinds made to order and fit inside the molding. They are a complimentary color to the wall so they blend a little and the cream molding stands out. They're cordless and from Costco.
