Anyone care to post their tried and true play dough recipes?

Not sure if they make it now but my 2 yo LOVED a Sesame Street set we had with molds that made elmo, cookie, and big bird "finger puppets." She adored it and played with it for ages. She's 3.5 now and still occasionally uses that set.

Multi-pack of play-doh, and some cookie cutters. You will have to pat the play-doh flat, let him cut and squish. Also, in our play-doh box we have duplos, toy cars, and other odds and ends to press into the play-do.

Idk if they even make it anymore but when dd was little there was a Dora & Diego set (or maybe just Diego now that I think about it) that she loved most. It had baby jaguar, Diego, and a little jeep you could drive over the play dough with and it would leave tire tracks. She would put down brown lumps of playdough and drive through the mud. It had other utensils and molds also but that's what I remember.

Both kids liked the ice cream shop but I think they were older when they got the most use out of that. At that age they mostly liked using kitchen utensils aside from the Diego toy.

Potato Ricers work great. You probably have stuff in your kitchen drawer that would be fun, as well as cookies cutters and things like that.

I always made my own play dough - you can find a recipe on line. Home Made works a lot better and they get really excited about making it!

Honestly, at that age I made my own and gave him plastic straws, plastic knife, popsicle sticks, kids rolling pin, plastic cookie cutters...etc. Check out the kitchen gadget aisle in the dollar store for cheap stuff, and then use whatever play doh you like.

My kid has a lever-type play dough toy which you push down to get the dough to come out in different shapes. It is too hard for him to do alone, and I'm searching for something that doesn't require a lot of parental involvement. What is your favorite Play Dough set for this age group?
