Most people would find your standards to be extreme, op. I don't think I could manage it, to be honest. I understand no cursing, but you're going to have a hard time avoiding "oh my god" in the real world. How much time does your mother spend with the kids? Unless she is your childcare, I don't think she'll be that much influence.

My SIL didn't want that kind of talk around her kids. I made a point to make sure my children and husband didn't use that language in their house.

However, she also didn't like the word "stupid" used, in any context. That one I just ignored. You have to draw the line somewhere

Your child will hear a lot more bad language than what she says and you wont be able to filter other children and adults. Get over it. When/if your child repeats, just tell your child to use nice words or say we dont talk like that.
