It's hard to say about the odds for 3rd grade (or any grade) this year. On the one hand, they're bound to lose students due to the move and the older grades don't get as many applicants so part of me thinks your chances would be good. On the other hand, I would imagine they would also have more applicants for the older grades than in previous years due to the fact they now have a permanent location. I agree with others that you should just rank your schools in true order of preference. If you like CM the best, rank it first. If not, don't.

Considering their PK3 waitlist went through at least 20, I would say those are good odds.

I would be shocked if they go through a waitlist of 14 for 3rd grade. If retention is good, they won't have many spots available.

In my opinion, the "higher" elementary grades are the better years for all of the charter schools.

Only some growth to achieve the targeted class sizes as the school grows each year.

In my experience, some families tend to move WOTP after K.

Ask this question, how much do you want your child to go to Creative Minds? Do you want your child to go to the schools ranked 1-4 more than Creative Minds?

Do not try and game the rankings. Rank in order of true preference - not how much of chance you have to get into the school.

OP, you won't get put on the waiting list for any school that you rank below where you get in. And it's not easier to get in to a school you rank higher. So rank according to actual preference.

The to of your list should be the schools you really want your kid to go to, not a "hot school." Rank in order of YOUR preference.

Better than previous years. They are adding a PK3 class and moving locations.

The order you put it in doesn't matter when comparing you to others just in how you get into a school. Read the algorithm thread if you haven't. If it is YOUR 5th choice, put it 5th. If it is your 3rd choice, put it third.
