This was the case with our home. We didn't change them. The previous owners had very traditional tastes, and the white probably goes better. But regardless, I'm not going to spend the money to change them. We'll renovate the house in a year or two (about five years after moving in), so I'll be able to change them then.

Just had the same scenario in our new house when we moved in 6 months ago. We sold every white appliance (fridge for $450, dishwasher for $150, old double ovens for $100 and are working on the electric stove) and bought new appliances. Nothing beats the huge Wolf/Viking ranges!!! We've remodeled the kitchen now too and I can barely remember the awful mess it was before.

don't be stupid that's not going to happen.

OP, you may decide to change appliances sizes and type during your kitchen reno. Hold off until the reno and live with the white appliances until then.

Stainless steel is going to be out very shortly - save up and get paneled appliances when you redo your kitchen.

Do the math on how much it will cost to replace your appliances and you will see what a gigantic waste of money it is.

You pay such a premium for stainless steel over white, it's ridiculous. Plus, all you're changing is the exterior, not the features.

Why not wait a few years until you remodel? Styles and features may change by then. You might change the layout or realize you might want a high end stove like a Wolf or SubZero fridge.

Would make zero sense to replace new appliances when you are going to wait a few years to renovate the kitchen.

We are moving into our new house within the month. Overall the house is great, but the one major hang-up I have with it are the white appliances in the kitchen. The previous owners bought a brand new fridge (french door) within the last six months, and the dishwasher, stove, and microwave were all replaced within the last 2-3 years. We are trying to prioritize what to remodel/buy new, and we decided to hold off remodeling the kitchen for at least a few years. With that said, is it a total waste of money to buy all new stainless steel appliances? I can't decide!
