Check your insurance - what are the rules for IVF coverage? Mine required 6 IUI's UNLESS you could prove male factor, which we had. So after 2 IUI's we moved on to IVF.

Depends on protocol, but generally you spend 1 month on birth control + do a mock transfer, then the next month you start on the stim meds. For reference, I did an IUI in February, started BCP and did the mock in March, stimmed and did embryo transfer in April, gave birth in late December

I also did three IUIs, and when the final one didn't work, started the ball rolling for IVF immediately. Again, it depends on you and your protocol and your clinic. But I was on BCP for less than two weeks. My lining was fine, even after three rounds of Clomid IUIs. The first round of IVF didn't work, and I'm taking a month off before starting another round. I personally couldn't put myself through back-to-back IVF cycles, although it is doable.

It will depend on your protocol, your basal levels etc.
Also if your insurance covers IVF, make sure your clinic gets all the authorizations approved quickly.
I only had a mock transfer once, and they make you come in on a certain day of your cycle. Maybe that's what the PP meant.

I'd probably plan on starting stims closer to april but it depends on if your protocol requires bcp first. Your RE might want your ovaries to rest too.

You can if you do natural cycle. Be careful if you are using clomid though. After three cycles, it have me cysts and thinned my lining.
If I were you, I'd do two cycles and then move to IVF. IUI is like practice for IVF.

Huh? Do you mean the mock transfer? I don't understand what you mean by "to see your response", don't recall anything like that from my IVF.

First, I would find out if you need to do all 6 before IVF coverage kicks in. If it doesn't, keep in mind that you can get the ball rolling in March but you will not officially do IVF until April.

You might've able to start the birth control part of you get a bfn in March. You are usually on BC for 4-6 weeks before injections. You need to have a consult with your RE and financial/insurance person ASAP.

Talk with your RE about how quickly you could begin IVF.

We'll be doing our IUI #2 this cycle and our 3rd next month. As you can notice, I'm not being positive about it so decided to do only 3 cycles though my insurance covers 6.
3rd cycle will end in early march, so by your experience, could I start IVF in march?

What are the steps? Please help.
