We are doing public all the way for our first and private in the early years for our second. I found the art and music sub-par in MoCo. Just too many kids in K-2 for these specials. We did supplement at home and paid much less than our private school tuition for piano lessons.
Public all the way is nice because the friends move from school to school.

You'll be fine either way if you are in a good district. Only go private if you love the school. Good luck.

We are doing private PK-8 and then public high school. I feel building a strong foundation is important. Public high school will better acclimate for college where they will learn with members of all socioeconomic classes and not just the ones who can afford a $25k tuition.

Yes, but that is not necessarily the point - it is not so much about differentiation in elementary --- in private you are getting smaller classes, more time for all the arts, daily PE, and just a different focus in general.

Private early . Public HS. Not sure about middle . In some regards, it is student oriented through a tough time. There's also no escape if it's a tough time in a relatively small school. Don't regret private K at all .

Private is a waste of time in elementary if you are in a good pubic. Serious waste of money. Absolutely for high school and probably for middle.

Don't let anyone tell you that private school kids get a better foundation. They all get the foundation. Its when the rubber hits the road and they need to really dig in, when you risk slipping through the cracks in middle school.

We did private k-8, public 9-12 (one of the best public HS in the area). It worked very well. In retrospect moving to public earlier, like 6th grade, would have worked well too.

Get a good foundation in elementary/middle in private.

Definitely high school!

We went public until the end of 5th grade and then private for MS and HS. Worked well for us.
