This happened to me on my last transfer--it took them two times and then they thought they were going to have to do it a third time, but the embryologist said it was only the zona that was left in the catheter. We did not get pregnant although it was supposed to be sticky. My RE was surprised that a) the embie didn't come out the first time and 2) that we didn't get pregnant. My DH is convinced that the RE botched the transfer and damaged the embie in the catheter. We switched clinics after that because we didn't like the RE amongst other reasons.
