OP, you may want to consult with an installer. They know all the brands, quality levels, prices, etc. Even if your DH wants to install himself, it's worth the money for someone to direct you to the best products for you.

DH desires to add a home theatre to our basement. Went to Magnolia (Best Buy) and was disappointed by the selection.

Any other ideas of where to shop for components? We are not looking for high-end customized solution. But do desire somewhere to see/hear offerings.
