People complain about it on the listserv all the time so I'm not sure why it hasn't gotten better. I don't know who is supposed to approve people, but they are not doing it well. Someone else should take over.

I also think they need to shrink the boundaries if they are that overwhelmed. It will never happen, but the reason they are inundated with requests is that the Moth boundaries are ridiculous. They include lots and lots of addresses that aren't on Capitol Hill at all.

Bumping up. I have received numerous invites from current members and still haven't been added.

After waiting for several months, I finally received an invite. So there is hope.

Lots of people on MOTH have been raising this issue on the list, so you aren't alone! It happens periodically. I'm sorry; I know it's annoying. The moderators I know are all really nice people. I think the list is just too huge to manage easily in a few minutes here and there. They should probably hand off the invites part to someone new.

Resurrecting this post from a few months ago...anyone having any luck? I first emailed about two months ago, then had a neighbor who is on email "inviting me", still no response. Kind of frustrating. I know it's much smaller, but when I joined my old Logan Circle listserv when we lived over there, I think I was added a few hours after asking...

Just chiming in that I am having the same problem. Very frustrating, as we are hoping to arrange a nanny share by late March. In case anyone here is also looking for a nanny share, please feel free to contact me at katebateman@gmail.com. My daughter is 19 months now, looking for 3-4 days/week nanny, and would love to find another child close in age. Thanks!

Sounds worse than the CC listserv, which is notorious!

I'm a longtime MOTH member and I assure you, it's nothing personal. They have backups all the time because they get tons of requests and the moderators are all full-time employees elsewhere. I agree it's frustrating! It'll happen eventually. If you can, ask a different person to email for you.

OP here. Thanks for everyone's replies.
For those of us waiting, hopefully we'll be allowed on soon.

Although it won't help you find a nanny share, Old Town Moms is a great list serve. The moderator is one of the most sane and reasonable person in the business. It was such a good information source I stayed on until my youngest was 4 even though we moved to Bethesda years earlier.

There are several moderators but for whatever reason, adding people does not seem to be a priority for any of them. It's been that way as long as I've been on there.

It took a month for me to be added over the summer. Now that I'm on it, I find it underwhelming.

I'm in the same boat. My neighbor sent an invite, but I've been waiting for a couple of weeks now.

No suggestions but looking forward to answers. A friend also sent an invite email for me, and I have yet to hear anything.

Just wondering if anyone has had any delay in getting added to the Moms on the Hill listserv?
My neighbor sent an initial email back in November and has followed up once and I've emailed them twice myself to see if they needed any other information.

Any suggestions on how to get added? I'm 31 weeks now and was really looking forward to having a neighborhood specific resource since I am a FTM and we are planning to do a nanny share when I go back to work this summer.
I heard it could take a couple of weeks, and realize that the holidays were involved, but not sure why, after several attempts, I've haven't received any response in over two months.

Any Hill moms have any other suggestions? Or are there other Capitol Hill groups that I don't know about?

Thanks!
