We have two kids who are approaching elementary school age and I really hate the thought of paying thousands a year for private school. We are already stretched tight paying for one in pre-school and one in daycare. I'm thinking of moving away from PG but I'm having a hard time getting Dh on board. Our local elementary is rated a 5 and I worry about our kids starting off in a school rated that low.

Well a "5" means the students are meeting the MSA Standards. Maybe not exceeding but they are meeting. In which that means that there are more kids exceeding than failing. I would look at the classroom sizes and the facilities and also the teachers than decide.

I'm interested in feedback as well! My dd will most likely be starting out a less than mediocre school-- I guess because the testing scores are low..

Which school is it? My child is doing pretty good in a so-called low rated middle school. The resources are good.
