PP here. Don't count on the lottery. It's still open but such a long shot.

Do you need aftercare? If so you can set up your aftercare near a school you like that has room and get in that way.

Lake Arbor is our neighborhood school and we opted out of it because of the large class sizes. Our son simply would not fair well in this environment. We have him at Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School which is about 20 minutes away in Glenn Dale. He went to Woodstream for Pre-K and I loved it but they lacked other things that we really wanted in a school. The academics were great however!

Arena drives means lake arbor is probably your school. It use to be a great school but i have heard there are so many kids at the school. You would have to go online for their test scores. I do believe the better public school would be woodmore based on test scores but unsure about behavior at the school. I believe the lottery for the charter schools are still open until the end of the month.

Riverdale Baptist is close. While I have heard mixed reviews, many like the academics and sports. Further up 202, off Lottsford Road, is Woodstream Christian Academy. I had my child there for only preK, but it was a nice environment at the time with a speedy academic pace. That was many years ago.

What part of Largo? Its not that big of an area. The only elementary school is Perrywood Elementary which on average meets the Maryland Standards as far as testing, and gets positive reviews from parents. It only gets a "5" rating on Great Schools but the test score show an average close to 90 percent of the kids are proficient or better on the MSA scores You could also try some of the charter schools in PG. They are pretty good academically. CMIT South, CMIT Elementary, College Park Academy. As well the French immersion programs at Goddard & John Henson. All those schools have excellence academics and test scores.

P.S. Further over is Woodmore Elementary which test even better.
