Social media is a two edged sword and merchants like Pottery Barn are acutely aware of this. Make sure to post on their facebook page, and tweet if you can. I guarantee that you will get their attention.

That's ridiculous! I love the Costco Charisma towels. I buy them all the time and LOVE them. One of the new ones I got recently had the entire hem fall off the first time I washed it (before using it) and Costco accepted my return easily. They said it shouldn't have happened.

I'm not someone who returns things I've used, but Pottery Barn should have returned your towels.

I disagree with this as a blanket statement. That's fine as a policy if you're returning something simply because you changed your mind, and the store would have been able to re-sell them if you hadn't washed them. But for a defective product, where the defect didn't make itself apparent until after the washing, it's completely inappropriate.

This. She wasn't returning them because she changed her mind she was returning them because they are extremely poor quality. OP I splurged when we built our house and got all PB bedding and towels for my kids rooms because I adored the patterns and color scheme at the time. The towels were replaced within a year. (With Ikea towels that have held up great BTW). They just have terrible linens.

Agree. I'm always surprised at this. Yes, things should last longer than a wash, but to me, that is a "lesson learned" and hopefully you can warn others (like you did here, thanks!). I feel like I research the hell out of things, but still get stuck with shoddy crap that I don't take back. Just life. Though I wish there were a way to wade through reviews better! I am always suspicious of the ones with a ton of 5 stars and a ton of 1 stars, but beyond that, no clue.

I would call again and ask to speak to a manager if you did not the first time. Usually someone at the call center or the regular employee at the store can't do much. If a manager refuses then file an online complaint with the Better Business Buerau. I did this recently and was pleased to get a $25 credit.

And to the PP - yes, you should expect to get a refund from a product that is horrible quality. Any good company would do this.

I had sheets from PB fall apart, too. Lesson learned. No more PB linens.

Washed. I ordered 3 sets of striped towels, got them and washed them in my machine. Noticed threads where coming off...okay let me dry them and see the damage. After drying I could see threads coming out everywhere and quarter sized spots with nothing left. Called pottery barn. Told me I couldn't return them because I washed them. Went to the store in Tyson's.told the same thing. So just a warning if anyone is considering towels from there. Check them over before placing them in the wash. Never had this happen with restoration hardware towels, target or towels from homegoods.
