You can't do an unmonitored cycle with injectibles!! That is really dangerous!

+1 OP, save up some money over the next 6 months. Talk to your dr about your CYCKE and see what meds you can use under their guidance.

It's crazy. It's a bad idea. I'd do it.

Good luck!

Do it if you are okay with selectively terminating some of the pregnancies if you end up with seven fertilized or something. I highly doubt that will happen though.

I'll be the counter here. I'd probably do it. You haven't had any luck using the doctors, so as long as you use the dose they gave you (or lower), I don't think overstimulation is likely. Given your background, multiples seems highly unlikely. There have got to be other women who've done this...

Back up a step...you did PGS and it did not catch Turner's? Was it 3-day embryo testing where they don't look at all chromosome pairs or the more comprehensive 5-day embryo testing where they test all chromosome pairs?

When and how did you do an unmonitored cycle with follistim? Even when my RE gives out clomid, they monitor. It is completely irresponsible not to do so.

I know you know this and I'm truly sorry for all you've been through, but you CANNOT take fertility drugs while you're not under the care of a doctor and being monitored in some fashion. It is extremely unsafe for you and if this isn't reason enough, if you did get pregnant with multiples, it would then be less than optimal for the baby/babies you want so badly.

You need to figure out another plan. Good luck.

Well, it's not really fair to dice the sentence like that. The key is "to give them." They're suggesting a double retrieval with banking after I've already failed with PGS. That's $30-$40K out of pocket for a technology that's already failed. Clearly I recognize that this is NOT a sane post, bc after so much failure, how could anyone be sane? The thing that has gotten us closest before was an unmonitored cycle with follistim.

I think it is a fair question. She's not talking about money for IVF. She's talking about money for monitoring.

It is crazy. You could end up over stimulating, you could end up with higher order multiples- I don't know what else because I'm not a doctor and a doctor is the person who should be deciding if and when you use such drugs.

Scrimp and save or keep trying the old fashioned way. If egg quality is your issue, you may need PGD. I am sorry.

Yes, yes, I know...it's always best to consult your Dr. But I'm out of money to give them...and I have a bunch of leftover IVF meds that I paid a lot for.

Before IVF, I did Follistim at 50 units/day and produced 3 embryos with timed intercourse. That resulted in a baby with Turner's Syndrome and MC at 12 wks. Our issue is egg quality, not fertilization. I also have leftover menopur. Is this crazy, or what would you do?
