RHPS's catchment area is huge. RCFES's is not.

It can't be since the all county Spanish immersion program is housed there.

Pulled out after k 3 years ago. Have friends who waited it out through 1st and 2nd.

PP is your experience recent? When did you pull out (grade?). We are trying to figure out what to do for k.

The non Spanish (English academy) has it share of problems.
If your child is on grade level with no behavior issues they kind of get neglected. We know of at least 4 families plus ours that pulled our kids out.

That is correct.

Will Rock Creek Forest feed into the new middle school once its finished or will it continue to feed into Westland Middle.

We are new to the neighborhood and have an almost 4 year old. Neighbors we have talked to say good things about the school including one neighbor with a k student in the neighborhood program.

What are the other programs the previous poster mentioned? I know there is the county wide immersion program, but is there something else planned?

The class numbers are smaller because they have Focused Academic Support funds due to higher numbers of low-income children.

There are 3 neighborhood K classes with 14-16 kids per class.

A new poster: how big are classes? We're starting K there next year, most likely. I see a lot about the Spanish side, but not the neighborhood side.

The principal and the school are great. It is a very diverse population and will house multiple programs starting next year. Currently there is just the community program and the county-wide Spanish Immersion. If you take an active role , your child will not get lost in the shuffle. The teachers and counselors are very responsive.

RCF is our neighborhood school. We don't know anyone with kids there and would love any opinions/reviews, good and bad. Our daughter is currently at a private school that goes through middle school and we're trying to decided whether to keep her there for K or try RCF. Free is very appealing, and the new building looks great, but I'm worried about the size of the school and whether our DD will get lost in the shuffle. If you have/had kids there, do you wish they had gone to private?
