We are looking into this as well...some friends who have gotten the Tempurpedic have really hated it. A couple of others have loved it. Doesn't seem to be an in between.

We are leaning toward the latex because it seems to have the benefits of the foam without as many of the drawbacks. And it is a lot cheaper.

The Tempurpedic has improved it's formula and no longer runs "hot." If you liked it then it's going to be worht the extra money. You really only buy a new bed maybe every 10+ years, and you are worth it. My next one will be a Tempurpedic, everyone I know who has one loves it.

I read mattress underground - and wound up with a latex one. We have had it for a little over a year and love it.

Lots of fake Tempurpedic forms dents really quickly. I wouldn't get Tempurpedic either since it runs hot.

Try natural latex. There is a great showroom in Vienna for a Charlottesville company called Savvy Rest. Unbelievable comfort. We tried a lot of different combos and then bought our latex through Foam Sweet Foam, which ships for free. It's amazing.

We love our Tempurpedic. Think about the beach where the sand just meets the water, and your foot leaves an imprint but springs back within a couple of seconds. That's Tempurpedic's texture. The moment I get into bed at night is the best moment of the day.

I have a friend with a Tempurpedic and she loves it. My parents bought a cheap memory foam mattress and it almost instantly formed two dents where they lay, but they say it is still comfortable and they love it.

We bought a latex mattress online and love it. It was expensive and worth it.

Figure out how much you can spend, and buy a mattress. You'll love it.

Need your advice please. We looked at the tempurpedic brand and the Sealy posturopedic. Looks like both are memory foam but the price for the Sealy version is a 1000+ cheaper! for comparative plush/firm ratio. The salesperson said that Tempurpedic as a brand is highly rated and holds a patent for their memory foam "blend/formula" . Other than that both are memory foam. Both felt comfortable to sleep on but Tempurpedic had a distinct "something" I couldn't put my finger on. The question is whether the something is worth the extra $1500

any experience with this? I am in a dilemma on which one to buy, given the price diff.
