I was raised Protestant.
My mother died of cancer when I was a teenager and I became very angry at the world and my idea of the Christian God, so I started to doubt the faith of my upbringing and explored other religions to find one that I could identify with.

I grew up in the suburbs of a large city on the East Coast and had an upper-middle class lifestyle.

I'm not married, though I hope to some day! Wiccans absolutely are allowed to get married if they so wish. I know sisters who are married to male Wiccans, sisters who are married to Christians, and everywhere on the religious spectrum.

I've been practicing since I was a teenager, though I started taking it more seriously in college. I'm open about it if people ask, but generally keep it quiet around religious people I'm not very close with.

I am not sure why other Wiccans choose to worship at that particular spot, but I imagine it's for the same reason you like to go for photos: It's breathtaking! Wiccans are very connected to nature, and how awe-inspiring it must be to stand in a building that is being reclaimed by foliage as you praise Mother Earth.

Many religions like having pretty things around their houses of worship, such as stained glass windows or artwork. Wiccans are lucky because all we have to do is go outside to have the best kinds of decorations!

I love the internet because how easy it makes communication.

Meetup.com has numerous groups all over the area, and magickal shops in the area are a great resource because they generally have classes and regular events.

There are a fair amount in this area as it is pretty progressive. I generally practice solitary because I'm very introverted, but on major holidays or I feel that I need more positive energy I will go to small coven meetups for rituals.
