Contrary to what the PP implied, you are not expected to cash out your retirement to pay for tuition. However, saying that you can't pay full tuition because you are making repairs on your rental properties is not a particularly compelling reason to get aid.

But bottom line, DCUM does not make financial aid decisions so I would discuss your situation with the financial aid person at the school.
