We use MD's plan for the amount that gives us the max state tax deduction ($5k per year, IIRC), and then we put any extra into Utah's plan. I suppose you could do the same with VA.

The Utah plan is very good. Good enough to possibly trump then contribution deduction n va.

You wont be able to deduct it off your VA taxes

Please tell me what the advantages are. Looking to invest a substantial chunk of change into a 529. I've heard that the Utah plan is quite good and it appears to have more investing options than Va -- but Va's isn't bad.
