I got a knock off black pair for $40 at Macy's. They look identical.

From a comfort perspective, I bought these after trying on a LOT of boots. They look similar to the jcrew ones.

They are comfortable for my average feet (size 7.5).

And yes, I thought I hated ankle boots too. They are kind of silly. But everyone has them, so I caved. I like them with jeans rolled up a bit.

I HATE ankle boots.

What's the allure?

Buy them if you want, op. I was with a friend when she bought a pair. They're nice enough. Since you're worried about price, I can say you really can't tell them apart from any of the knock offs sold in low-end stores like macy's.

Link to the shoe you mean, OP.

THat style has been pretty effectively knocked off by other brands. Personally, I'd go with these for less than half the price: https://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/shoes/boots/PRDOVR~A9823/A9823.jsp

And if you aren't wedded to suede, Madewell's Billie boot is very, very comfortable (and I don't usually wear heels).

I am SO in love with the black suede ones but they are expensive of course. It may be worthwhile if they are super comfortable and I can really wear them all the time. Can anyone comment? Trying to decide whether to splurge.
